Experience

Francesca manages the Intellectual Property Department of the Eptalex office in Milan. Over the course of her career at several law firms in Milan, as Partner and as Of Counsel, she has acquired experience in all technology related contracts, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, licenses, know-how and technology transfer agreements, as well as all trademark contracts, including trademark driven mergers and acquisitions, coexistence agreements, licenses, all IP activities in M&A, IP litigation, in particular in pharmaceutical and fashion litigation, IP due diligence coordination, privacy and IT consulting, with a special focus on new technologies.

She deals also with privacy law and with the issues concerning the interaction between privacy and the civil proceedings.

Francesca has acquired considerable experience in the management of national and international arbitration, civil litigation (ordinary, precautionary and summary proceedings) and non-judicial activities (drafting of agreements, opinions, identification of strategies, etc..), in particular in the field of industrial and intellectual property and IT.

Francesca provides advice in many areas, including: all types of domestic and international litigation; analysis with the client of Italian and foreign issues and identification of the most appropriate strategy, both before and during the proceedings, in the field of the protection of industrial and intellectual property rights; litigation relating to advertising, also before the Antitrust Authority; development of trademark strategies in close collaboration with clients and their consultants; drafting and negotiation of all types of contracts in the field of industrial and intellectual property and IT, including licences and technology transfer agreements; collaboration for the identification of specific profiles in the field of M&A operations; due diligence in the field of industrial and intellectual property.

Francesca is also professor of civil procedural law at Università degli Studi dell’Insubria, Como-Varese; lecturer at the fashion law master at Università degli Studi di Milano.

She has been visiting professor at the Harvard Law School and at the University of Maastricht.

She is author of two books and of various publications on civil procedure, evidence, comparative civil procedure and intellectual property, both in Italian and in English language.
