Jean-Charles is a founding partner of Eptalex’ associated law firm Ferdowsi Legal and in charge of its Tehran office. A French attorney at law, he is member of the Paris Bar and registered at the Budapest Bar as European lawyer.
Before moving to the Middle East in 2015, Jean-Charles spent twenty years in Central Europe working at Gide Loyrette Nouel, Salans then Dentons law firms, where he advised on significant merger & acquisition and privatization deals, restructuring, stock exchange regulations and takeover bids. He has also been involved in several competition cases (anti-trust and anti-competitive practices) and worked on major construction matters and projects in the road and public transportation fields. He then has been practicing in Tehran, having been first involved in the development of Dentons in Iran prior to founding Ferdowsi Legal.
Jean-Charles focuses since on Iran and has been advising a broad range of international companies (listed companies, important private industrial groups and SMEs) on their investments and operations in various sectors such as oil & gas, renewable energies, agri-food, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, automotive, hospitality, logistics or electronic payments. He acquired a good command of international sanctions issues in the Middle East and deploys a significant activity in sanctions risk management.
